We collect and process "personal data" as defined in the Data Protection Act 1998 of the United Kingdom (Act) in the course of providing the services and network via the website www.skipso.com (Skipso).
Any "sensitive personal data", as defined by the Act, will only be processed with your explicit consent. Examples of sensitive data include information regarding your health or racial or ethnic origin.
Your personal data will only be shared with third parties as is reasonably required for us to provide our service and/or if we are required to do so by law. Our collection processing and storage of personal data is governed by the Act because it occurs primarily in the United Kingdom. However, due to the nature of the Internet such personal data may be accessed globally.
In particular, we use your personal information to better understand your requirements as a user of Skipso. Unless you opt-out, we may occasionally inform you of new features, services and products available on Skipso or new products provided by us. You can opt-out of receiving such messages by using the privacy and display settings on your account.
We have an obligation under the Act to ensure all data processed is accurate, complete and up-to-date. Accordingly, we ask that you review and update your personal information from time to time to ensure it is complete and accurate.
By its very nature and purpose, Skipso is a medium by which business professional people seek to make contact with each other. Other users may contact you via the Skipso forums, the private messaging system, via export contact tools, via mass mailing newsletter tools or directly to your e-mail addresses if these details are visible on your Profile Pages. You can choose to stop receiving private messages and messages sent via the mass mail tools at anytime. All the personal information you enter into Skipso and choose to be displayed, will be viewable by any other user (who may export and save such data), or any visitor to the site, or search engine that indexes the pages on Skipso. We cannot accept responsibility or liability for any processing conducted which is beyond our control.
During the Skipso registration process, or at any time thereafter, you can control what information is visible and to whom it is visible by using the privacy and display settings.
By default, registered users are able to see which other registered users have looked at their Profile Page and advertisers are able to see which registered members have followed links to their web pages. You may amend your privacy and display settings so that your details are not shown to other registered members and advertisers in this way.
None of the above affects your rights of access to any personal data we hold about you. If you wish to request a copy of such data, please email administration. Please note that any such request may attract an administration fee of £10.00, payable in advance and non-refundable.
